#buyhungarian (#veddahazait), or in other words, what can be done for each other at the time of crisis?

As a quick fix, responding to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic a campaign entitled “Buy Hungarian, protect Hungarian” ( Vedd a hazait! Védd a hazait!) has been launched in co-operation with Magyar Termék Nonprofit Kft.. Over and above the creative implementation, the action #buyhungarian has also been supported by strong social media activity and press communication.

The very goal of the #buyhungarian campaign is to highlight that if consumers purchase Hungarian products, they not only support Hungarian producers and Hungarian economy, but also significantly contribute to the preservation of a great number of Hungarian jobs. Keeping this in mind, targeted messages and activation were used, exemplifying how powerful joining forces and helping each other can prove to be in times of need.

The campaign has quickly evolved into a movement, as various Hungarian companies and numerous private individuals have joined, and drawn attention together to the importance of buying Hungarian products. Besides the social media activity, the attention of the press has also been directed to the cause. Over and above the professional and general public portals, TV and radio channels also started to show interest towards the movement #buyhungarian.

We are proud that we have managed to establish real community-based collaboration for the protection of Hungarian products, and we do hope that this will remain in existence even after the pandemic.
